Story on Kakinada City A story on Kakinada city which is on it’s way to become a smart city. Kakinada is one of the cities which is listed to become a smart city by government of India. So what is the story of this city?  The story starts with the name of the city. The name itself is surrounded by many stories. One says its name before independence was Cocanada, because Dutch use to export Koka sarees from here. Some says it was named after Kakasura losing his eye by Lord Rama. Kakinada, which is the Headquarters of The East Godavari District, is known as rice bowl of Andhra Pradesh and attracts tourists with its lush paddy fields and coconut groves swaying in the breeze which appear to dance in the celebration to life.
